While sitting is inevitable for most blue collar jobs, it is important to make it a point to move as much as you can. Thirty minutes of activity per day is simply not enough.
Of course, these are all easier said than done. After all, when we go to our office, the first thing in our mind isn’t how to be healthy. Usually, we are focused on the deadlines we have to achieve for the day. But it is because of this, that we should pay particular care to our body. So what can we do to save ourselves from the side effects of sitting?
Try to form habits in your own workplace that can be beneficial to your lifestyle. Walk around the office as much as you can. Simple stretches to improve posture can also help. Using a standing desk is also beneficial for posture and blood flow benefits. Simply changing your work posture can drastically improve your health.
As with all habits, it's alright to start slow. Set simple reminders in your phone for a short walk or to simply stand up and stretch. Changing your routine doesn’t mean an overnight effect on your lifestyle. You’ll find that starting already makes a world of difference.
